Our Sustainability Report:

At Wicked Lovely we use organic, non-toxic & recyclable silk to make our garments.

The goal is to make these garments with a quality that will last for years & each piece is intended to be recycled or resold to create the least amount of waste, never thrown away.

We make a very small quantity and ensure every piece has a home before making more. Overproduction in the fashion industry is the leading cause of waste & we believe that clothes should never be dumped in landfills, especially our cute dresses.

More than 90 million tonnes of clothing end up in landfills each year, most of these never even worn or sold.

Most fabric is not recyclable as it is made of synthetic fibres. However, our silk is a textile fibre which is all natural, 100% recyclable and highly sustainable.

"In our current economy, we take materials from the Earth, make products from them, and eventually throw them away as waste – the process is linear. In a circular economy, by contrast, we stop waste being produced in the first place".

Ellen MacArthur's definition of a circular economy includes 3 principles; eliminating waste production; circulating products & materials; regenerate nature.

Vision

Our vision is to one day become a fully circular brand.

This means that eventually every garment made and sold at Wicked Lovely will be made from silk that has been recycled from old Wicked Lovely pieces.
